  7.     Rumor has long had it that RIC OCASEK, 40, lead singer for
  8. the Cars, and supermodel PAULINA PORIZKOVA, 23, are a pair. But
  9. the couple has dodged the paparazzi too well for anyone to
  10. confirm it. Next week, however, the towering Ocasek and
  11. Porizkova, whose combined height measures over 12 ft., will
  12. appear in a variety of embraces in IN Fashion magazine. So, are
  13. they dating? "We're not stopping the secret," says a coy Ocasek.
  14. "We don't want to be some big rock star-model couple. We have
  15. enough problems with privacy as it is." But he adds, "She's
  16. always smoking my cigarettes." As for the pictured embraces,
  17. Ocasek says, "This wasn't to `come out.' " Paulina, he
  18. continues, could have been photographed with anyone. "But she
  19. wanted to do it with me." What about the story that he has asked
  20. her to marry him 150 times? "It was 148 times. We ask each other
  21. a lot." Perhaps when Ric settles his divorce from his wife
  22. Suzanne, someone just might say yes.
